the last week and a half

So a few days ago, my plane landed and I was home after a ten day trip to New Zealand. It was awesome! Besides the fact  that it meant that I didn’t get to wakeboard for all that time, I had a blast. In everyday life I wouldn’t exactly call myself one that is particularly close to nature; I mean, I love the water, and being in and around it, and I do love the outdoors, but I enjoy showers, and the luxury that city living affords. There was little of that in New Zealand. Every day was an adventure. We got to go mountain biking, white water rafting, black water rafting (look it up, it was crazy), luging… the list goes on. In short, crazy trip. I enjoyed it immensely.
Then, first full day back, I got to go riding with Brian Grubb! For those of you who don’t know who that is, he’s a big shot pro wakeskater, and he was in town to judge the competition that I only just missed due to my being in New Zealand. I spent the whole day on the water with him and Leo (and a bunch of the crews that were out to film and interview Brian, nice to see our humble sports getting some exposure), and it was good fun. I rode alright, considering the time it had been since I was last on the water. It was crazy good fun.
Just as a side not, you should all listen to Behemoth’s new album, Evangelion. They are a siiick polish death metal band and you should check them out for sure.
Here’s the censored (yeah, I’m not going to go posting excessively controversial material on this blog) version of the music video to their song, “Ov Fire and the Void”

I’ll try and get some photos of the day spent riding with Brian, and of New Zealand, but that’s all from me for now
