big props for liu jiayu!

torah bright (from australia) won the gold medal today in the olympic hp finals. the chinese girls kicked some serious butt too but JUST missed the podium. liu jiayu got 4th and sun zhifeng got 7th. not too bad for starters.

no double corks have been seen, still - killer run of torah with lots of amplitude. check it below:

guess what? shaun, like predicted, won. he did not only win but he KILLED it. after the first out of 2 runs it was already clear nobody would beat him but instead of just leaving it like this he put down (yes, pls be amazed) the following tricks in his 2nd run:

HUGE bs air, double cork 10, cab double cork 10, fs 5, double mc twist 12

man…congrats. whatever everybody says out there - shaun is the man. 2 olympic appearances, 2 gold medals.

tomorrow is d-day for snowboarding (HP, the only one that counts. for me at least.)…check what terje thinks about it.

for all that don’t know terje…he is THE snowboarding legend out there.

as much as i wish that china takes home a medal in womens halfpipe (cauz then i get invited to the states by skullcandy…have a nice bet going there with ryan) i actually also hope that somebody kicks the FIS ass.

anyways, double corks are the shXX right now and not only the men do them…found a vid of torah practicing double cripplers (which is not far off double corks) LAST SUMMER in nz already…

that is going to be one interesting halfpipe comp for sure…

that story is actually a longer one but i try to keep myself short…just got hooked up with dragon and i am stoked to be on their (china) team again.

dragon was my first goggles EVER and i rode them for years till quik came out with their goggles. now that the bizz is not that serious anymore and dragon actually finally has their own distribution in china i got HOOKED UP and i am STOKED!

why dragon u ask? there is tons of reasons but 2 of them are really important to me:

a) one of my best homies has a dragon tattoo on his leg (see lame picture below…note that i actually got rid of the spitfire one…haha)

b) dragon collaborated with my other homies from back home…the pirates and my man ludschi designed goggles for them (yep the ludschi that stayed at my appartment for 2 months last year) AND i am STOKED to be wearing them from tomorrow on.

hell yeah. ok that was a long one…

note: quiksilver goggles rock BUT we don’t carry them in china anyways so…STOKED ON DRAGON

just a week to go till the olympic halfpipe events start and it seems we are not only looking forward to double corks, double mc twists and triple whatever. i actually hope that all works out…

apparently. anyways - my boy andrew is back at the resort after a longer break and its good having him again. now that marco is injured and not riding (or is he?) its good to have somebody hyped on the slopes.

back to the “old dog”: got my eyes opened on how to break down different tricks and guess what…it works! stoked. thx andelu!
